This was our last day in Ha Long Bay. Two nights was the best length of time to visit for, we seem to have done everything but haven’t quite tired of it. Perfect for another visit!
We were up early again this morning for Tai Chi, I do enjoy doing Tai Chi in these surroundings! I had managed to check the correct steps for the Tai Chi I used to do at home (the classes stopped a while ago unfortunately) so after we finished the official Tai Chi, I did my set of Tai Chi as well. It was really atmospheric. Especially with the noisy Cicadas, another thing we don’t have in the UK.

After breakfast it was an early excursion to Luon Cave. This, unlike the previous caves, was a wet cave as we could only access the cave by boat. We disembarked from the tender and took a sampan through the cave, ducking the stalactites, into a wee lagoon. This was surround by foliage covered karsts on all sides inhabited by monkeys! Some of which came down to the lagoons edge to be fed. There were even some babies!

There were lots of sea swallows swooping in through the sky as well, the nest of these birds is used in the famous “birds nest soup” that is made in china.
After a brunch (they must be fattening us up for something…) we returned to dock and our bus for our two hour ride back to Hanoi and out plane to Ho Chi Minh City.
We arrived in Ho Chi Minh city to find that the rain had travelled with us - and brought its’ friends! The local guide (Uyen) had umbrellas we could use but, as Mum and I had our hand full, we decided to just go through the torrential downpour. Our skin’s waterproof! And it’s warm rain unlike the icicles we get at home!
We didn’t go to the hotel straight away but instead went to a restaurant for dinner as if we had gone to the hotel we wouldn’t be eating until really late! The restaurant was typical of the restaurants we’ve been to, a banquet style meal with lots of different dishes for us to try and fresh, what we would class as tropical, fruit to finish.
Once we had finished eating it was time to go to the hotel. The room was lovely – we even had a bath! And I have bubble bath – I have to have a bath tomorrow! I’m too tired tonight.
